I Don't Own You

I was telling my wife to make sure to use Bleach (as a kid didn't know it was bleach just called it Javex) on my socks and underwear. She said "I won't since you're doing the fucking washing." This was a few years ago. Since then I stopped buying white socks and underwear. Actually laundry duty is not assigned to either one of us, we just do it when the pile is blocking the basement stairs. If the laundry can't be moved out of the way of the stairs well someone has to do it, right? I mean at my age tripping over socks or slipping on semi-damp underwear can be tragic; broken hip, broken arm, an eye pops out.  Truth the wife does the majority of laundry as I just wear same underwear for longer periods of time, but I do the dishes and sweep the floors. The laundry and coloured underwear remind me of when I was such an ignorant insecure selfish man, a jerk. You know one of those guys who thinks they are the boss and use anger hostility jealousy to try control the home. The type of guy who left his underwear on the bathroom floor and wonder what his Dad's underwear is doing there? Well let me tell, I wish I would have listened long ago to a smart strong woman, Mom. It was those damn television shows I blame. Moms always in the kitchen cooking and letting Madge soak their hands in dish soap. This is a distorted version of how a home works, isn't it?

The reason we are talking about dirty laundry (literally and figuratively) is the lock down of the world. Seems there is a rise in domestic abuse. I guess insecure jerks are beating the life out of children and wives. At this point some guy sticks out his chest and huffs, "what the shit, men get beaten too." Yeah, just take a seat Todd and let's deal with majority here okay? The world is taking a big dirty dump and folks are bat shit eating crazy over it. White men and white women are mad they can not go to the hair salon. White men just like an excuse to carry military assault rifles to a public gathering. People are wanting to sacrifice the old, the poor as long as it is not them. People are capable of singing My Baby Loves Loving while the drone strikes on a Muslim country full of kids; there is no crazy pill we will not take. So while the World puts human beings on a time out, some jerks are not willing to Netflix and Chill  (Yo, she wanna Netflix and chill but i wanna get rich and bill). The humans are waving guns, spreading germs and beating women. Old God is Great, the Bible  mentality and thinking of Women as the pack-horse-mule has never disappeared. Men continue to behave and act like Women are property.  This is arse-crunch ugly because these same people are using the argument "liberty, freedom", or in other words "you don't own me." Men (lot of white gun tootin' beer bellied scraggly bearded assholes) are puffing out their chests, stuffing socks in their groins and whining about not going to be able to golf all the while expecting their shit pee stained white underwear to be washed wth bleach (Not me, fuck those white underwear stains, I only wear blue, black or grey underwear). Who do they expect to scrape off the crunch stains?

Do the Laundry I said.
Why is it we think we own someone? Why are we constantly wanting to lock them down and control them? Could it be we are so cock-munching stupid we can't see how it is part of our sick society? The stool stained underwear is a reflection of our society; dirty raunchy crunchy vile stench and we still think it is fine. We sing along to popular tunes  and ignore our world of shit stained damp underwear and unbleached laundry.

"If you love someone enough you will follow where ever they go. That's how I got to Memphis."  Because you think you own her. Our society is filled with subtle reminders that we think we own her - them. Don't believe me? Listen to Kentucky Rain song by Elvis Hips Don't Lie Presley. In the song story, she runs away but he stalks her. Like many norms in society, we are keenly unaware of how we see things. The Cold Kentucky rain is a beautiful love song and the poor guy is going to get his girl back. Never-mind she is running away from broken teeth, cracked ribs and a house full of shitty shorts. We normalize the ugly and the ugly is we think we own everything (everyone).

So turn around look at the white arse and know this, he don't own shit.

Oh back to my wife. She is not mine even though I say my wife. I tried that, being an owner, worse damn thing I could have done in my life. Now I hope to know better. Oh and my wife never uses the F-word, I kind of embellished that one at the beginning of the story. She says "Oh shit" but never the F-word.

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog
He said, I will fix your rack, if you'll take Jack, my dog
I said, wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man
He said, that's okay, boy, won't you feed him when you can

Will The Jackals Feast? COVID-19

The Coronavirus aka COVID-19 has slowed down all sorts of production and travel. The result is the Earth has a chance to breathe. Universities and other Health Agencies are monitoring the air quality and how it has been improving. I believe we should not be surprised when we slow down on fuels the air somehow gets cleaner. It doesn't really matter do does it? Our governments, the Ultra-rich and the large corporations will not change their behaviour. We can expect not much to change after the waters calm. I think things should be different. We should look at the world in a different way.

We are currently seeing how ugly greed is. The hoarding of vital medical supplies by greedy opportunity jackals. The Rich of the world, the Bezos, the Waltons, Larry Page, Levinson and the rest of those Hyenas are not good for the World. The cheap labour, the medical workers, the cleaners, the service sector are keeping the economic world moving. Hopefully the world sees how wrong the current system is and we can not keep supporting it. Come with me if you want to live.   People will not accept a zero sum solution. The resistant to change is great especially when it comes to upsetting the money flow. Sadly compromise is a killer to real change.  I say I will save you and we can start here:

1. Travel Stops. Have two free commercial free days the world over. No aircraft travel, no cruise ship, no tankers, no highway truck travel. Maybe even have one no motor travel at all. How it would start saving the world.
2. No more billionaires. If your company or individual is a billionaire, each country would take hold of their assets and distribute through infrastructure and society well being. Billionaires can survive on 900 million.
3. Guaranteed wealth sharing. The production of goods can not go on without having brakes. How many new cars does the world need? What happens to all those vehicles not being purchased? There could be one year production of cars, followed by one year shut down. The working groups affected can be subsidized for a year like employment insurance or guaranteed income. This ensures they can have no super disruption in their lives. Unrestricted production is killing the Earth. All sectors of production could be examined.
4. Culling people. Let's face it, humans are the biggest threat to humanity. I don't think this will get traction because the rich always look after themselves first. The poor and the marginalized will be the first to be culled. So take culling off the table.

My saving the World is limited to just three things right now. When I am made supreme being of all things human, more items will be listed. For now we will see how the world accepts this change.
Eat From the Arsehole to the Stomach: Jackals

You will see things have to change or the Jackals will come in and dig through the dead carcasses and eat from the arsehole to the stomach. With a crisis the vultures, the carnivores come out and feast. Look at Katrina, the land developers taking land all the while aided by the law makers. Shady companies getting all sorts of government contracts, without delivering what was expected. Puerto Rico suffered from a Hurricane which devastated the whole country. The governments fed the Jackals of private companies and friends of law makers with contracts. The Jackals took and took without any compassion or care for the country and the people. Today we are seeing law makers feeding the Jackals. Canada gives Amazon a private company the contract to distribute medical supplies even though Canada has a public corporation specializing in distribution of goods/mail. Other countries are in similar situations, with Jackals cashing in and just positioning themselves to feast in the very near future. This can not continue for the sake of the world.

Plans For After You Die From COVID 19

Wonder what the future will hold for us. Today is the First of April 2020. The World is dealing with a pandemic and people are scared. At least we are seeing the fear being played out in the main stream news. I haven't really heard too much about the African Continent. We have seen the reports regarding Iran, Spain, Italy, the U.S. and now Russia. Schools have closed and for some bizarre reason, people are hoarding toilet paper. Me I am trying to get a hold of .22 rifle just in case things go all bat eating weird or worse yet, baby cooking crazy. I do not hold a valid PAL (license for purchasing fire arm) so my purchase for a .22 will be difficult and with the stay at home mandate, it is unlikely I will be able to get one. So this means my family and I are at the mercy of bandits. Masked and unmasked bandits will be able to pillage our home.

One of the things we are seeing is the lowly wage earner has become Batman; superhero but without the cash. The front lines of the crisis are being "manned" by the nurse, the janitor, the warehouse worker and the customer service person. Many of this workers are Women. They are literally risking the lives of their family just to make sure you have enough arse wipe. While they are showing the world how selfless they are, we have the rich government official looking at ways to profit. Governments are taking this pandemic as an opportunity to give money to their rich buddies. At the same time Amanda is busy cleaning the shelves, the door handles and every inch of the local Wally-mart. Aarushi is doing triage at the emergency room with hardly any chance to rest. We are seeing the best in a select group of people.

We are also seeing the ugly even in the early stages of this uncertain pandemic. People are bringing out the hate. We just saw a young man stab a family Asians as they were buying groceries. Along with the parents the young man stabbed a 2 year old boy in the face, a two year old in the damn face.  Not very sportsman like wouldn't you think? There have been numerous attacks on Asian Women. This really bothers me, I happen to like Asian Women, I like all Women actually. I may not have the Asian Fetish, but I do watch a lot of Asian shows on Netflix with a preference for Korean shows. Even the men are quite good looking.  The President of the United States and his arse licking followers (those syphilitic parasitics)  just plain evil. There is no other explanation for how they behave. The media tried to paint the Prez as suffering from sickness but really the guy is just an ugly human being. The ugliness of people has been on full display now for a number of years. The pandemic is just another chance for the ugly hate filled to come out of their caves.

There is a possibility many of us are not going to survive the pandemic (may have 2.2 million deaths US), if the forecasters are right. So it might be time to consider plans should you die a horrible death, not being able to breathe.  But let's not talk about that, okay? Lets us remain positive and hope it is a quick and honourable death, like that of a Samurai. Not their Seppuku death (that is horrible) but the kind where the Samurai lops off your head clean and quick with the Katana. Now that would be a cool death (if dying could be cool because it is not. I have seen death and it's ugly). So we should be speaking with our loved ones.

The cost of death can be prohibitive. It can be too expensive to die. The costs associated with death can range from $7,000 to $12,000 on average. This is not even those extravagant funerals, with a live Band and all the steak and lobster dishes. This is industry average for a standard casket viewing funeral according to Google.  I don't want to be a burden with my death. I mean after all the remains are just rotting corpse and I am not in there anyway.  I guess going for the most inexpensive means is our best bet, go cheap or go home. I think we cannot just bury bodies anywhere these days, so cremation is the alternative. Although I hear there is the natural burial or the Green burial thing. If that is an option than going that way is good. If my family wants to go that way it is good, but its a cost thing again so maybe cremation will be the cheapest way for us. And what to do with the ashes of my burnt up body. There is this creepy urn which is 3-D printed to look like a head. You can have your ashes in a head that looks like you. Not sure if my wife would like that? I don't want expensive urn, just something like a wooden box. And no service. I am not a Church person these days. I don't want a funeral at all. Maybe family can have a meal and set a dish for me. We do that for our Mom Dad and our boy on their birthdays, their death day and sometimes at holidays. Play a song for me once in a while, enjoy a cup of tea, Earl Grey hot. And remember my love for you all.

So don't be scared to talk about it. I know we were told that talking about death invites it. I don't invite it, but I want my family to be aware as we are not guaranteed long life in any circumstance.

Throwing Mud In The Air Hoping It Will Stick

Everyone wants to be heard, everyone needs to be heard. We know things are not equal;  some voices get to be heard while others should be heard. Noozhishenh, my grandchild is one year old and her voice will not be heard and why shouldn't her voice be heard?  My Mom and Dad are dead and gone so their voices are not going to be heard. Some voices are in fact far beyond the grave; voices are heard even when dead and gone. Still we wonder about the message or if there is a message beyond just hearing the voice. We all know some of those dead voices like Elvis Presley, Martin Luther King Jr, John F Kennedy, John Lennon, Thich Quang Duc, Sacagawea, Ignatia Broker, Rosa Parks and many many others.  While some of the voices are still heard frequently, others are but a whisper in a loud room. Other's had their voices muted on purpose but still managed to be heard despite the effort. I think about Jamal Khashoggi and how prior to his death I had no clue who was or what he was saying.

The musician, the writer, the poet, the legislator, the famous, the infamous and the notorious may have their voices heard beyond their death and their time. Time is an interesting social construct; we have to measure and measure. Not all voices, the words of yesterday are diminished by time. We see the constant voices of various religious sectors. Some voices should still be heard ("I have a dream") while others we should hope never to hear every again ("Humanitarianism is the expression of stupidity and cowardice").

In the same fashion of Thich Quang Duc
I wonder how can we have our voice heard? Should it be even heard and by who? There are images I remember from years ago. I didn't know what the message was so in some cases I looked up what the message was, what the voice was saying. The voices resonate with us and that is why we remember them. Thich Quang Duc was a Monk. The government was doing wrong and Thich acted. He had his colleagues pour gas on him and Thich lit a match and burned himself up. His voice in the form of self-immolation.

Another voice we now hear is Jamal Khashoggi who was chopped up while other governments listen in? Poor guy all he wanted on his last day was to go and get documents so he could get married. He walked into an Embassy in Turkey and ended up never being seen again. His voice got him killed. He used his voice by speaking up against the Royal Powers of Saudi Arabia. There are other voices we still hear today not just because of the voice but a combination of events. So is that how we get our voice heard? Do we get shot, do we jump off a bridge, do we kill a rich businessmen or rich oligarchs, do we pour petrol over our bodies and burn? Or do we need to be like Jamal Khashoggi and be chopped up, carried away in luggage bags?

Some voices we will remember due to the strength of the message, while other voices for the joy we received from them. We will remember voices for the absurdity, the hatred, and some for the hope we get. Voices may have us smiling or laughing; "I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love." That is fine but some voices should just melt away with time. Do we really need to hear "My achy breaky heart" as one of the voices? I would rather wait in a three-hour long line to hear Gilbert Gottfried read the book 50 Shades Of Grey  than sit through another verse of Achy Breaky Heart.

I always wonder about the "voice of reason" and why it is hardly heard or remembered? If it is remembered it only resonates with a soft reception. It instills some emotional response in us but just dies there. We live in a time where the room for being heard is overwhelmingly crowded. The other problem with the voice being heard is there are powerful forces which control the volume and the message.  So the soft voice is not going to be heard. The reasonable voice, the positive voice is blocked by loud, obnoxious, the biased, the spiteful, the selfish and the hateful voice.

We are in a time when we need our voices heard.  The World is a wondrous place. The technical advances, the architectural achievements, are all fascinating and spectacular but still they can not compare to the beauty and splendour of Earth's nature. The magnificence of beautiful Earth is under a forceful threat. The threat impacts all of us today and all those yet to have a voice. The voices of the world are trying to be heard so the voices not yet heard or born will have a place. Where they will have a place where they can speak freely, walk freely, breathe freely, and live freely. There are many who have tried and are trying to have their voices heard. There was an Idle No More voice, an Occupy Wall Street voice, Black Lives Matter voice, Me Too voice, Anti-fascism voice, LGBTQ voice, Civil Rights voice, an Environmental voice and many other voices calling to be heard.  The problem with voices trying to be heard is there has be an ear to hear them. We have seen many voices being made to shut up and many voices just ignored, not even heard. For voices wanted to be heard it is the same as throwing mud in the air and expecting it to stick, not likely to happen. Especially with the disparity in voices. Money and power controls the world and so they have the loudest voice. They have the power with police forces, military support when they want only their voice heard. They shut up the voices of the poor, the marginalized, and the majority. It is imperative to keep your speaking your voice.

I say keep throwing the mud in the air. Somehow, some way it is going to stick.

Living With Suicide Loss Is Crushing

The jokes still get told, the teasing still takes place, laughs still escape but the hurt is always there.
Just below the smile, there is the deep sadness. The "hey nice to see you" is a true sentiment but lurking in your mind is the loss, the grip of grief. Tears will not flow at every thought but the head hurts, behind the eyes the pain starts. You see the happiness in others and feel good for them, but there is a nagging pain, sharp and dull at the same time.

The people don't know. They can not see the hurt behind your eyes, your smile, your teasing, your laughter, your friendly nod.

My eyes still well up with a longing for the past. We live in the after and it is an unending pain, filled with sorrow, with regret, with why's.

So the jokes will still get told, the teasing will take place, the laughs will still be heard.
It is what the living do.

Canadians And Their Blood Lust

Canadians have an itch they can't scratch but are desperate to do so. It is the rumination of revenge, hurting, inflicting pain and killing. Canadians have a pent up aggression and wait for a chance to unleash. British Columbia's Vancouver City is viewed as "cool, laid back welcoming place" to visit and live. Vancouver is an example of Canada's repressed angry and hate. When Guns & Roses had a concert cancelled at GM Place, the fans rioted and this gave the police the opportunity to whip and beat anyone who was in the area. The police went "beat them up" wild. Vancouver showed pent up anger and hate when their hockey team lost the final game of the Stanley Cup. Burning, smashing and some looting took place in downtown Vancouver over a hockey game loss.  Rioting is not limited to Canada and that is true, the thing is Canada has sold an image of peaceful existence, welcoming country and of the moral conscience of the world. In reality Canada is not the noble state it promotes. Canada will boast it is a great country and it is funny because the first thing they refer to is the Land, abundant and beautiful. Yet Canada is killing the same landscape with all the raping for resources. Canada loves the image of being cool groovy even boring (as Madonna has said). We know beneath all the hype, Canada is beastly.

We have seen glimpse of Canada's nature throughout modern history: denying MS St Louis port, essentially sending 904 Jews to their death. Imprisoning 90% of the Canadian Japanese population. The Ban on Black Immigration, as well as the move to Eugenics. Despite the shameful facts of Canada's actions, there are those who truly believe Canada is a Haven of good decent folk. There are no doubt very good people all throughout the world. We don't have to go far to find good samaritans, people doing their best to treat the Earth and people with kindness, generosity and mindfulness. We are neighbours to the some of those people. So why is it we are witnessing so much ugly in the world? We see the unending wars, the displacements of people, the killing of children, the whole mindset of "just for me?"

Has the ugly always been part of who we are? I mean Canada in comparison of many other countries is peaceful, right? So why do we see the Canadian public foaming at the mouth rabid with hate for the Indigenous community?  Canada is in the midst of a long going difference of opinion; who has title to the Land? Canada does not believe Indigenous peoples have Title. This is because of Canada's lust for Oil, Forestry, Water and Minerals. The lust for the resources is playing out in the public view. While people are fine with Indigenous people being showed off in museums, in displays, public ads for travel and in art; the public does not want the Indian to be seen and heard. The Indians have never stopped with their stance of belonging to the Land.

So while the Indigenous community is saying "Hey there buddy, wait up on that screwing up the Land here", the everyday laid back Canadian is saying "kill em all, little and big, nits make lice" or words to those effects. Death threats towards Indigenous youth, Indigenous Land Protectors has become very common, has become an everyday happening. There is a glee happening with the average Canadian publicly wanting Indians to be run over by trains, by Semi-trailer trucks and by "scalping" them. Indigenous folk (a few of them) are surprised their colleagues, their neighbours, their local police officer, their school teacher and their political leaders are openly calling for violence against them. Can you imagine that, Canadians are wanting Indians killed? The police are ready to shoot at Land Protecters. Most of the Indigenous population is aware of Canada's disdain and their hate.  Canada has a blood lust and they are openly sharing it with the world.

Young Family Facing Death Threats

Facebook Post:
"Just run them over.”
“Plow through them with the trains.”
“Bunch of welfare bums should be working not protesting.”
“Everybody protesting better shut off their heat and stop driving.”
“Let’s have kill an Indian day and get rid of them once and for all.”
“Bunch of criminals should just be arrested! I have the right to go from A to B! They’re infringing on my rights! They’re violating the law!”
“Kill them!”
“Shoot them!”
“Bring back scalping!”
This is Canada. This is your Canada. These are the words of your fellow Canadians. These are the words and the dangerous acts of ongoing genocide that Indigenous people have to live through every single day. This is racism, it’s hate, and it’s division. And it needs to stop. When you hear someone spreading hate, put a stop to it. Tell your friends the truth that this is not ok to act like this. It’s unacceptable. But most of all their hate is founded upon ignorance and fear.
If you think these protests are about pipelines then you’re profoundly wrong and ignorant. Wet’suwet’en gave CGL three alternative routes to put their pipelines through their land that would be the least damaging to the areas they value the most such as the rivers for the salmon that feed their people. CGL refused those options because they would cost more and take longer to build. So now they’re trying to divide the country and force a pipeline through a land that doesn’t belong to them nor does it belong to Canada. So this is about Indigenous sovereignty. I repeat, the protests are about INDIGENOUS SOVEREIGNTY!!! The right to govern our own lands as we see fit.
Most of Canada is unceded Indigenous territory. Meaning it does not belong to Canada. And the parts of Canada that have treaties were under the agreement that we would share this land so that the settlers could have the opportunity to give their families healthy long lives for as long as the rivers run clean, the grass was green, the air was fresh and the Earth was respected. It was upon those agreements that the settlers made the treaties, the laws that predate Canada, and it was under those laws that both sides knew that if the agreements were broken then that was the end of the treaty, we would no longer share our land and war would begin.
Since Canada began, those treaties have been broken over and over and over again. The genocide of Indigenous people has gone on for over 150 years. Yet, we still remain peaceful. Sure, we are blocking up railway and roads and making a big ol’ stink but we are doing so peacefully as we always have and you, you’re continuing colonialism, genocide and hatred instead of putting that energy towards something that really matters and that is CHANGE!
Now you can sit there in the past, letting the government divide you and direct all your hate towards a people who’ve done nothing to you but allow you to share in their land so you can live long healthy lives. Or you can be a better Canadian, learn about Indigenous people, learn the true history of Canada and realise that you too hold a sacred place in our medicine wheel. You too are a part of Turtle Island. You too have within you the 7 Grandfather Teachings that we live by: Truth, Humility, Honesty, Courage, Respect, Wisdom, and Love.
So Canada. This is your challenge. You either grow as human beings and begin your decolonisation journey towards a better and healthier future for all living beings on Turtle Island. Or you stay stuck in this cycle of hatred and genocide. We’ve waited over 150 years. We’ve got generations of patience. And we will continue to be your Indian Problem, until you realise that we are the Indian Solution to everything that’s messed up in this country.

Compromise The Great Indian Killer

Canada's Government has entered into an age of "Reconciliation" with the Indigenous people. The problem with this Reconciliation is it seems Canadians are not interested in Reconciliation with Indian people. It seems no one told the general public or the elected Members of Parliament or the Provinces about Reconciliation.  The Indian population has welcomed the opportunity for Reconciliation from Canada. Perhaps Canada can answer their question of  "what the heck does it mean, reconciliation?" And by the way where is this George Dixon everyone keeps talking about?

The answer seems to be a one sided equation with Industry, public and government sentiment becoming more and more anti-Indian. The racist rhetoric has been escalating. One retired Member of Parliament was so happy the sermon in his Church called for attacking Indian folks. He said time to go out on the range. He was practically giddy with the possibility of shooting Indians. The Provincial Premiers are calling for violence on Native people who are currently Land Protecting. In Canada a number of the People are setting up "blockades" to bring a stop to Pipelines going through Indian Land - Unceded Land.  This action by the Indians has caused white people (with Indians and People of Colour as well) to lose their shit.  Police are doing what Corporations expect them to do; move in with heavy artillery, full military weaponry, use the canines, bring out the batons, put on the combat gloves and smash those pesky Savages. How dare they inconvenience the real Canadians, the Old Stock Canadian?

I attended a Gathering organized by Women some time ago; the theme was Standing in Our Truth.  The Women spoke of the system and how working in the system is not the answer. Breaking the system is the route to go for Indian people. No one paid attention to the words. The Indian leaders have been on a path of compromise. The slogan of "we have to work together is the mantra of many an Indian political group." There are going to be many people out there who want to work with the system. Regardless the system has been developed for their extermination, figuratively and literally. It is quite funny the leaders have not recognized the role of compromise in their own dispossession of their homes, their Lands. The Women at the Gathering see it. Unfortunately you can not be prophet in your own home.

So what is the answer to the "Indian Problem?" I think there is no Indian problem but a Canada problem. Canada continues to tell the Big Lie. They want the population to believe Indians are the problem to you, the public, the tax payer, the good Christian, the Oil Patch worker, the everyday good Canadian. For Canada the "Final Solution" is to be rid of the Indian, even if it means by hook or crook.  While Canada continues on its route for complete dominance of the Indian, some Indians are eagerly assisting with the dominance. Canada is really living a lie. They want you to believe this Land is theirs, but deep down, they know, we all know, Canada has stolen and is stealing Land. That is really what is in play here. Canada can not continue to hide its lies and its beholding to Corporations.  But it is really strange we have people, our own people willing to help them?

This Indian activist said it long ago when he reminded Indian folks to not forget what happened to the Indian Scouts who worked with the Calvary; they were loaded on the train along with the Indians who fought the government.  Canada does not see you. You are the Indian. You are not part of the Canadian equation.

Shingus Sends Regards
I think about the scene in the movie 300, where the  Ephialtes  wishes to be a Spartan Warrior. Ephialtes is not able to be a Spartan Warrior, he does not have the skills. The rejected Ephialtes betrays King Leonidas and the Spartans. He is rewarded with fulfillment, meeting desires of women and riches by the enemy.  Ephialtes wants to be in with the Spartan Warriors/Leaders. He is not worthy of being a Warrior/Leader so they ask him to contribute in other ways. It is not enough for Ephialtes so he goes to Xerexes, the other side, the Rulers. Ephialtes has his desires fulfilled and he now champions for Xerexes. When Ephialtes comes to Leonidas all dressed in the finest clothes, gold and jewels and asks Leonidas to join them, Leonidas looks at him and says "May you live forever." To live a life as a traitor to your people is ugly. Ephialtes despite his jewels, gold, fine linen clothes casts a repulsive image. Live long with knowledge of who and what you are.  There are many Indigenous Leaders who continue to believe in the Canadian system. Regardless of the evidence, the past practices, the goals of the Regimes, some Natives will compromise their beliefs, their heritage, their People and their communities for the riches; "I want it all."

Like Xerexes, the government will say we are going to kind and generous to you - as long as you kneel to them. Sadly there are many who will bend the knee.

Wonder What They Are Thinking

I live in the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba and I drive to the Sagkeeng Anishinaabe Reserve daily. It's not too far, one and half hour dri...
